Mother Blessing Ceremony
A mother blessing is inspired by the traditional Native American Ceremony ‘Blessing Way’ which originated by the Navajo tribe that celebrates the woman's transition from maiden to mother.
A Mother Blessing is a special gathering of women - the mothers support circle - who hold the pregnant mother in celebration, love, wisdom and ritual as she prepares to cross the threshold of birth.

It is a space where the Mother is reminded of her beauty, inner strength, and connection to all that Is.
It is a space to release fears or burdens, so to cross the threshold unbridled.
It is a space to explore the feminine landscape and hold space for the transformation that this Mother is navigating. Oftentimes, I witnessed the healing potency of this gathering that ripples out to all the women gathered.
It differs from a baby shower as it is more mother focused.
This gathering can be the beginning of calling in your village of support for the tender weeks & months after birth. It is a beautiful opportunity to bring awareness to the significance of this rite of passage, and highlight some ways to care & support mothers after birth.
Beautiful to receive in the 3rd trimester, an intimate gathering of your support circle, the women whom you feel connection and care from.
What the ceremony may look like:
There is no one way to hold a Mother Blessing. There are different elements that can be included and personalized to your preferences and desires. Some of the elements that we can weave into your Mother Blessing include:
Grounding in practices / guided meditation
Activities & rituals that offer celebration, connection, fear release, and encouragement for the upcoming birth, postpartum, and journey through motherhood
Circle sharing
Creative workstations where mother-focused gifts can be created and offered by the collective of women
Pampering with foot soaks, flower crowns, and herbal teas.
A 'Meal Train' can also be arranged in conjunction with this Mother Blessing
Bespoke Mother Blessing
From $400
Includes:
• Up to 3 hours facilitation (with an hour either site for set up and pack down)
• Ceremony design and flow guidance
• Grounding meditation and circle holding
• Simple altar elements
• Mother’s foot soak ritual with salts and herbs
• Guided rituals and activities
• Guest liaison and invitation support
• Light pack-down support
• Circle size of up to 12 guests
Host provides blankets and cushions and gathers activity materials. Additional setup support or sourcing of materials can be added if desired.
Optional Add-ons:
• Flower crown for mother-to-be — $60
• Sourcing activity materials — from $50 (plus cost of items)
• Additional setup support, including supplying blankets and cushions — from $50
• Larger circles (more than 12 guest) or extended gathering may require additional facilitation time - $80 per hour
