About
May you feel nurtured, nourished, heard & held
My desire is for all mothers to ease into motherhood feeling supported, nourished and loved.
I hear so many stories of mothers who struggle in their postpartum. Newborn mothers who feel exhausted, overwhelmed, uncertain, and isolated.
Unfortunately, the initiation into motherhood is not something that is revered by the collective society we live in. As a western culture, we don’t have a road map of how to thrive as newborn mothers. We often time just accept that we will just survive it and put pressure to bounce back.
With postnatal mood disorders, postnatal depletion, and autoimmune disorders on the rise, it is evident that mothers are not receiving the care and nourishment that they require.
“What postpartum mothers need to both survive and thrive is rooted in their physiologic design. All we need to do is honour that design.” - Rachelle Garcia Seliga @innatetraditions
My name is Tanya. I am a wife and a mother to three boys.
My own motherhood experiences drew me to delve deeper into the cross-cultural teachings & art of postpartum care, so to support & nourish mothers as they prepare for and move through their postpartum period.
Rest, warmth, nature, nourishing food, wise women & community are cross-cultural elements required for postpartum mothers to thrive.
I believe that pregnancy and postpartum are times to reclaim, receive and replenish. It is a time where the mother must call in the care & support that community can offer her.
My vision is for the collective narrative around mothers to be revered because it is the mothers who bring forth and guide our future generations.
In order for the world to be well, mothers need to be well.
My desire is for all mothers to ease into motherhood feeling supported, nourished and love.
For mothers to have the spaciousness to slow down to the rhythm of her child(ren); to be able to tune into her own inner knowing, wisdom and guidance system for the answers; & to be able to tend to herself in a way that enables her to feel replenished and well so to carry forth her sacred work as mother, whilst offering her own unique gift as woman in this world.
Ultimately, for her postpartum period to be held with reverence and care so that she can emerge rejuvenated and thriving – physically, emotionally, mentally & spiritually.
I am here for the revolution and remembering of postpartum care as an integral facet for overall maternal health and well-being.
